Brr!! It’s cold outside so indoor play is in full effect. It’s hard to keep everyone entertained during the cold months and rainy days. I like finding new and unique spots to bring my little ones especially when the weather isn’t the best. So when I heard that Swim and Play in Wallingford, CT has an 87 degree saltwater pool, bounce houses, crafts and music I knew that I needed to check this place out.

SWIM
It might be feeling like single-digit temperatures outside but it’s always a balmy 87 degrees in the Swim & Play saltwater pool. The pool is 3 feet to 7 feet deep and is open for lessons for ages 6 months to adult. They offer private and group lessons, open swims, water aerobics, birthday parties and swim clinics. I was a bit hesitant to bring my kids into the pool. Besides vacations, the kids have never really had time in a pool. I was always too nervous to bring the twins to lessons by myself, and by the time my third child came along, I was definitely outnumbered. Now that they are a bit older, and the girls can take lessons without me, I would like to carve out time to take some lessons. The pool at Swim & Play was a great first step. It’s warm, has a zero-entry walk in style and you’re allowed to bring along your own flotation devices during open swim. It was a great way to get my little ones comfortable with the water. After just a few minutes in the pool they were swimming around like fish!
PLAY
The play portion of Swim & Play includes 2 giant bounce houses, mommy & me art, and music classes.
Bounce
My kids loved playing in the bounce houses. There is music, scarves and the freedom to run around as they want. There are open bounce drop-in class on the schedule Monday – Friday.
PRICING: Daily Open Bounce – $10 per person; 10 Pack of Open Bounce – $85
Turtle Time
Turtle Time are structured activity classes for ages 6-months to 7-years-old. The class is split into two age groups: Mommy & Me for ages 6-months to 3-years-old and Drop-off for ages 4 to 7-years-old.
The Turtle Time class includes teacher directed age-appropriate group activities to develop creativity, coordination, and social skills. Children will engage in crafts, music, games and bouncing.
PRICING: $15 per class
Music Lessons
Beginners music lessons to learn to read and play basic piano. Children will be exposed to the guitar, banjo, mandolin, and percussion instruments. Classes are geared toward children ages 4-years-old and up.
PRICING: $15 per class
BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Swim & Play offers custom birthday parties for children. Parties can be bounce house, pool, or a combination of both. There are different add-ons to choose including art, music, and face painting.

Final Thoughts
We had a lot of fun at Swim & Play. I love that they have options for both swimming and bouncing, music, art classes. The space is fun. Lots of bright colored walls and kid-friendly spaces. I can’t speak to the quality of the classes since we didn’t do anything structured but the staff is super friendly and accommodating. I’d love to come back and enroll my kids for swim lessons. I know that they like to keep the size of the classes small to accommodate the needs of the swimmers. If you’re local and looking for a new spot to try out some classes with your little ones I’d definitely recommend it.
