The Peanuts Movie Ice Palace at WestFarms
The WestFarms Mall in West Hartford, CT has transformed the center court into The Peanuts Movie Ice Palace complete with pictures with Santa or Snoopy. It even made my list of 50 holiday activities in CT. On Black Friday when everyone was racing around the mall trying to score the best deals, my family decided to visit what might have been the quietest part of the mall, Santa’s lap.
The Peanuts Movie Ice Palace closely resembles The Frozen Ice Palace that was located in the mall last year. There is still the iconic 30-foot tall ice palace with magical falling snow. My kids love dancing around in the snow and catching it in their hands. The ice palace has several large screens playing clips from the new Peanuts movie.
I hear that the line to see Santa is not nearly as long as it was last year (we only waited about 10 minutes). Just in case you end up waiting a little longer than expected, there are interactive displays along the way. You can create a icy handprint and compare it to Snoopy and Woodstock or snap your own picture next to the spinning Peanuts sign.
Once you finally get at the front of the line, there are several different picture packages to choose from. Get your picture taken with a life-size graphic of Snoopy and his dog house starting at $14. Pictures on Santa’s lap start at $23 and include a Shutterfly promo card (I used mine to order Christmas cards). Photos taken with Santa receive a complimentary gift.
Getting your picture taken with Santa is a must-do during the holiday season. I’m glad my little ones warmed up enough to capture a cute memory.
