Mother’s Day Gift Ideas for 2014

posted by yazmin

Mother’s Day is right around the corner. I look forward to this day every year since becoming a mommy. On my first Mother’s Day I got the best gift of all…sleep! My husband took care of the night time and morning feedings and I slept in. Last Mother’s Day the girls were older and we enjoyed a great day at the Beardsley Zoo. I’m excited to see what this year will bring.

Gifts for Mother's Day

Being a mom is the best job in the world, but it also can be a thankless one. Having a high-risk pregnancy this year and caring for twin two-year-olds has left me pretty tired and stressed so it is great to have a day where other people turn their attention to me. Whether it’s getting to sleep in late, a handmade card, or something sparkly there are plenty of ways to show your appreciation for Mom this year.

Here are five great gifts on my Mother’s Day wishlist this year.

Photo Book

I’ve made a dozen photo books for different occasions and even given some away as gifts. They always seem to be a big hit, sometimes eliciting a tear or two.  I’d love a photo book made especially for me with pictures of my family. There are tons of different websites dedicated to making photo books. I’ve used Shutterfly and MyPublisher in the past and found them both to be very easy to use.

Camera Strap

I have one of those fancy DSLR cameras with lots of buttons that I’m still learning how to use. This Capturing Couture camera strap is the perfect accessory as I run around snapping pictures of my kids.  There are dozens of great styles to choose from including point and shoot camera straps and camera bags.

Initial Pendant Necklace

Every new Mom I know has or wants some sort of “Mom jewelry” to symbolize their children. When my twins were small I had a pendant with my girls’ initials made from Etsy.  Now that we have our newest addition I need an update to include my little boy.

Diaper Bag

Being a new Mom to three little ones I am always trying to figure out ways to make my life easier. One of the problems I am running into is having enough hands for everyone and everything. While I can’t grow an extra limb, I can make sure that my hands aren’t being occupied with a clunky diaper bag. I’ve had my eye on Petunia Pickle Bottom Boxy Backpacks. I think the backpack style is exactly what I need to be hands-free while keeping all the essentials close by.

 Personalized Phone Case

I might be behind the boat on this one, but I’d love a personalized phone case; something stylish that also protects my phone from the constant beatings it takes.  I like the idea of a simple monogram or even something with the faces of those I love. I’m sure this would be a hit with most moms.

These are few of the things I’d like this Mother’s Day. What is on your wishlist this year?
