Love List February 2015

posted by yazmin

I realize that February is a short month, but I feel like I blinked and it was over. Most of the month was spent shoveling out (or watching my husband shovel) from all of the snow we’ve been getting. I’d really like to send Mother Nature, Queen Elsa, or whoever is responsible for all this snow a message to quit it.

We celebrated Valentine’s Day with a family lunch and some cute Valentine’s Day crafts. I’ve also been gearing up for Andrew’s 1st birthday party in a few weeks – and then crying over the fact that my baby is going to be one!

Love List February 2015

Have you found any new products that you’d recommend? I’d love some inspiration for next month’s Love List.

Ed Sheeran – X

I got Ed Sheeran’s album for Christmas and I love it. It’s definitely been played on loop. I especially love the radio hit, Thinking Out Loud, which I’m sure is going to be the top wedding song of the summer.

Chick-fil-A

Chick-fil-a

Chick-fil-A recently opened in CT so obviously I needed to find out what all the hype was about. I totally agree that the chicken is good, but the real reason I love Chick-fil-A is for their kid’s meals. Since our house has been on the market (it feels like forever!) I’ve been taking the 3 kids and dog to the drive-through during showings. I love that I can order my kids grilled chicken nuggets and fruit as a meal. They also give away books as prizes, and you can ask for a special board book for kids 3 and under. I don’t feel guilty giving my kids fast food and it is a great way to kill some time while showing the house.

Mommy’s Time Out Wine

mommys time out wine

I am certainly no wine connoisseur. The last time I went to the liquor store the owner told me that the wine I chose was made mostly of grape juice and sugar. I ignored his recommendation and bought it anyway. So obviously I’m not going to swirl my glass around or tell you what region the grapes came from. What I can do is tell you that Mommy’s Time Out wine has a great name and it tastes pretty good too. It was obviously made by a group of people who I’d be drinking buddies with, and that’s good enough for me.

Owning My Car

This month we officially paid off my car! Chris and I say that buying this car was one of the best purchases we’ve ever made. When we bought it our main concern was that we would have enough room to fit our 90-pound golden retriever. We had no idea that we’d have three kids in two years and that extra space would be used for way more than just our furbaby. Paying off our car was a huge accomplishment. It’s great to have one less large monthly expense, especially as we gear up to buy our dream house.

Rio Samba Sun Hand Soap

Rio Samba Sunset Hand Soap

It’s been a long snowy winter. I feel like I’ve spent the last few months cooped up inside with three kids running (and crawling) around like crazy. Having little things around that I love make those long winter days a little bit easier to bare. I recently found this soap at Bath & Body Works. I usually stick to my favorite scents (kitchen lemon and warm vanilla sugar) but I decided to try something new. Now every time I wash my hands I’m left with a great scent that leaves me wanting to plan a vacation.
