Quassy Amusement Park & Water Park
2132 Middlebury Road, Middlebury, CT 203-758-2913
When I was a kid I went to Quassy Amusement Park twice a summer with camp. It was the highlight of the summer. Now that I have kids of my own, I thought it would be a great way to spend a summer afternoon. So much of Quassy looks like how I remembered it, yet there are so many new great additions to the park.
After a rainy start to the day and a yummy lunch at Maggie McFly’s (Check it out. They have a great menu!) we headed to Quassy. My husband only had a few days off from work so we wanted to take advantage of our time together. We called it our Connecticut Staycation and tried to pack in a bunch of activities into a few short days.
Parking
Quassy parking fee is $7 per car.
Tickets
Tickets for rides can be purchased individually for $3.75 per ride or a pack of 12 tickets for $35. There are ticket booths to purchase additional tickets inside the park.
You can also purchase an all-day ride and Splash Away Bay (waterpark) pass for $26.50/adults, $22.50/kids. Tickets to visit Splash Away Bay and Quassy Beach only are $16. All babies who can sit up alone need a ticket.
TIP: You have to wear a wristband to prove purchase of your all-day ride pass. Kids can wear wristbands around their ankle if they are resistant to wearing it on their wrist (Like one of mine was. Gotta love 3-year-olds!).
Groupon also has special discounts to save on park admission. You can also save on admission by visiting on Mondays or Wednesdays or Fridays after 5 pm.
Strollers
Quassy is a small size amusement park which makes it perfect for my preschool age kids. The park is stroller-friendly if you have little ones. They even have strollers and wagons to rent ($5/single, $7/double, $7/double wagon). Since the park isn’t too big, my 3-year-olds would have managed just fine without a stroller.
Food & Drinks
Outside food and drinks are allowed at Quassy. This is a great way to cut down on the price of your day. If you choose to purchase food they have typical fair-type menus.
TIP: Bring along water bottles and have them filled at food counters.
Kiddie Land
Quassy has a little corner of the park dedicated to toddlers and preschoolers. There weren’t height restrictions to ride. As long as the child could sit up, they could ride. My kids (ages 3 & 1) were also able to ride plenty of other rides in the park.
TIP: Make sure to check out the carousel and train on the opposite side of the park.
Family & Thrill Rides
Quassy still looks very similar to the amusement park I used to visit twenty years ago. Many of the rides are classics. They’ve also made improvements and added new additions to the park including Frantic, their newest thrill ride that opened this year.
Splash Away Bay Water Park
Quassy opened their water park in 2003. Since then they have continued to add new water attractions. There’s even a special area for the smallest water lovers under 48 inches.
Since we went to Quassy on a cooler day we didn’t get to have any water fun. I did get a chance (with my ride all day pass) to walk through and check everything out. I’d love to come back again and spend the whole day in the water park.

Lake Quassapaug Beach
We had a great day at Quassy Amusement Park. I loved the nostalgic feel I had walking into the park. Many of the rides were still the same but they’ve also added lots of great attractions. I appreciate that the park is really small and not intimidating for a family with small children. I would love to plan a return visit to fully experience Splash Away Bay.
