Love List November 2015
I think November was the perfect combination of low key days mixed with super exciting events. We’ve had a busy year so it was nice to have days when we had nothing to do and nowhere to go this month. The exciting stuff was pretty exciting though — we started “shopping” for pieces for the our new house and we welcomed a new (extended) family member to the world.
Here are my top 5 favorite things from November
Becoming an Auntie
My sister-in-law and her husband welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world on November 5th named Kenzie Rose. I’ve been anticipating her arrival all year and I’m so excited to officially become an auntie. It’s really the best thing. I get to have all the cuddles but none of the night feedings. It’s the perfect cure for any baby fever that I might still have.
WTNH
I was contacted by WTNH to come in and talk about parenting related topics. I’m much more comfortable behind the camera or computer than in front of it, regardless I powered through and went for it. This was an experience that was completely out of my comfort zone but I’m proud of myself for trying something new. Sometimes the title of “mom” can become all-consuming so it’s nice to explore different roles besides mother.
Thanksgiving
This year we split Thanksgiving between both sets of families. It was a great way to see everyone and enjoy the holiday. We have so much to be thankful for. My family is completely blessed and I’m so grateful for all that I have including my beautiful family and wonderful friends.
Noodles & Company
I’m always looking for healthier dining alternatives for my family. When the new Noodles & Co opened up in Southington, CT I knew that we needed to try it. My kids love noodles and I love offering them quick food that isn’t fried. They offer 4 different kids meal options (buttered noodles, spaghetti & meatballs, mac & cheese, and grilled chicken breast) with 2 sides (fruit, veggie, crispy rice square). The environment is family-friendly and everything I’ve had to eat has been super flavorful. It’s a great alternative to traditional fast food.
Hayneedle
Last year on Black Friday I discovered Hayneedle. I was buying an easel for my kids and they had the best deal around. This year I used them again to purchase a few presents. I’m so impressed by their low prices, discount codes, and fast shipping (I got my orders in 2 days). Plus, they sent me an additional 12% off coupon for future purchases. It’s definitely worth checking out if you still need to do some holiday shopping this year.
