Love List May 2014
Each month I am planning on making a “Love List.” It’s going to be a few of my favorite things from that month. There are no rules. It’s just for fun. It could be a product, a new food, a favorite song, or special moment. I think it will be a great way to chronicle each month. Let’s get started!
May has always been my favorite month. Not only is it my birthday month, but it’s the beginning of great weather, blooming lilacs, and now celebrating Mother’s Day. Here are five new things that made me love May even more.
I’m not sure if it’s because he’s a mama’s boy or because I’m more experienced as a second-time mom, but this little boy has completely stolen my heart. I can’t get enough of his smiles and coos. I just want to press pause, bottle them up and save them forever. I’m trying to take as many photos and videos of him now because I know how quickly it all goes.
My Amazing Blow Dry Secret
I was introduced to this product by my brother’s girlfriend. She gave me a sample and I’ve already ordered more. I have very thick, naturally curly/wavy hair. On the rare occasion that I choose to blow dry my hair, it can take close to an hour to get it perfectly dry and straight. I don’t usually use products in my hair, but I love this styling spray. My hair dries faster, finishes smoother, and helps me feel fancy.
Trash to Treasure Hunting
My town had its first bulk trash pickup in more than four years and I was determined to pick up a few gently used toys for my little ones. I have never been much of a treasure hunter. I’m always too shy to pull my car over and load it up with someone else’s trash, but this year was different. I don’t know if it was my best friend cheering me on or the thrill of what I might find, but I put all reservations aside and scored some great finds. I found a play house, play kitchen, slide, snow sled, and picnic table. In years past I’ve seen a brand new king size headboard (with tags still attached!), pianos, and garden benches.
I’m not a huge cake or ice cream lover, but I enjoy something a little sweet after dinner. I recently discovered Brookside Dark Chocolates and I love them. We got a variety pack of acai blueberry and pomegranate at BJ’s. Each package was 100 calories and just the right amount to satisfy my sweet tooth. They’re the perfect size to throw into a lunch bag or as a treat after dinner. Plus the fact they’re made with dark chocolate and fruit makes them more healthy, right?
We recently switched our TV provider to AT&T U-verse from DirecTV and we’re so glad that we did. We were a bit hesitant at first, but absolutely love all the new features. We get more channels than we’ll ever need and the picture quality is great. The service is lightning fast when changing channels. You can even watch full TV on any Internet-connected device from anywhere in the house. I feel like we were living in the dark ages without whole house DVR and On Demand programming. So far we are very pleased with the service.
