Love List March 2015

posted by yazmin

Spring is finally here (even though it continues to snow every other day!). The days are getting longer and there’s an excitement that we’re inching closer toward warmer weather.

This month was all about Andrew as he turned the big O-N-E! We celebrated his first birthday with a baseball themed party. We took a trip to Stepping Stones Children’s Museum to kick off his birthday weekend. We even had a sweet cake smash photo shoot.

Love List March 2015

Here are a few of my favorite things from this month.

Andrew

082 (2)

This little guy couldn’t be any sweeter. He’s been a cuddlebug since the day he was born. Since I was so emotional about his upcoming birthday I gladly take baby cuddles anytime of day (or night!). He’s getting ready to walk and is starting to say his first words. He’s keeping me busy as he cruises all over the house. Something tells me he’s going to be a lot more active than his sisters!

Retail Me Not

RetailMeNot

I really wanted Andrew’s birthday party to have a lot of personal touches, which meant I spent a lot of time shopping for supplies. I’m not a traditional couponer but I love to save money when I can. That usually means looking for coupons on my phone while in the checkout line. I love Retailmenot. It’s always been my go-to site for online shopping, but now I use it in store too. I just pull up coupons on your phone and the cashier can scan the code. It’s easy and saves you money – a win, win in my book!

Target Cartwheel

Target Cartwheel

In the spirit of saving money, I’ve begun using the Target Cartwheel app. It’s really simple to use. All you have to do is search for your product, add it to the cart and present it the the cashier at checkout. You can also scan your item to see if there is a discount. If you shop at Target as often as I do than the savings can really add up.

Home

Home Dreamworks

We took the girls to see Home this weekend. I had no idea what to expect other than it being a kid’s movie, but it ended up being really cute. It’s about an alien (voice of Jim Parsons from Big Bang Theory) who comes to Earth and meets a little girl (voice of Rihanna) who is searching for her mother (voice of Jennifer Lopez). My girls really enjoyed the silly little alien and it kept me engaged as well. This is only the second movie my girls have seen in the theater but I could see it becoming a recurring event.

Empire

Fox Empire

There had been a lot of buzz about Empire so Chris and I decided to check it out. We actually got hooked pretty quickly. There were only 12 episodes in this first season so it felt very fast paced. I would say it’s a hip-hop mix between Glee and Nashville. It’s dramatic and has a ton of celebrity cameos. I would definitely watch season two.
