Love List August 2015
Why is the summer so short? I feel like now that I am no longer a teacher, the summer is even shorter. Maybe it’s because I really took advantage of the days when there was a countdown to returning to work, or maybe having my own kids speeds everything up. Even though summer is great, I’m really looking forward to everything about fall. It’s truly the best time to live in CT.
August felt like a very stressful month. We spent a lot of time on house related things, getting the girls ready for school, and preparing for my sister-in-law’s wedding. I’m ready for things to calm down as we enter September.
Here are a few of my favorite parts of August. What were some of your favorite things?
The Kissing Hand
I feel like I’ve been preparing all month for my girls to start preschool. It’s an emotional time for all of us. The night before school started I read The Kissing Hand. It’s the perfect story to remind my little girls that I’ll always be thinking of them.
The Library

Chris and I celebrated our 8th anniversary this month. We dropped the kids off at grandma’s and had the day to ourselves. We visited The Library restaurant in Wallingord, CT for an outdoor lunch. It’s owned by the same family as Goueveia Vineyards (one of my favorite places to visit). The restaurant is in Wallingford’s old library built in 1899. The building has beautiful architecture and details. The food was delicious and we got to pair it with some of our favorite wines from the vineyard. Win! Win!
Bachelor in Paradise
Bachelor in Paradise has been my guilty pleasure for the summer. I’m a fan of the Bachelor/Bachelorette but have never tuned into Bachelor in Paradise/Bachelor Pad. I love that it’s mindless television that I can watch after a long day. Do you watch?
Sister-in-Law’s Wedding
My sister-in-law got married this month. My whole family of 5 was in the wedding. It was a night wedding so I wasn’t sure how the kiddos would do but thankfully they had a wonderful time. There were plenty of people around to help out and they had a fun time dancing the night away. I’m so happy that my sister-in-law found someone to love forever and we got to share in her special day.

We recently went to Foxwoods Casino to see Cirque Eloize iD show. We don’t get up to Foxwoods very often so I forgot that they had opened new Tanger Outlets. I’m not a big gambler so it was great to have a different way to spend the day. They have a lot of great stores (Gap, H&M, Banana Republic, Express, Kate Spade, Bath & Body Works, etc.). We saved a ton of money at Banana Republic using their in-store promotions and coupons on Retailmenot (I always check for coupons before checkout!).
