Hubbard Park’s Silver Lights Festival
West Main Street, Meriden, CT
2018 Update: Runs from November 20, 2018 – January 1, 2019
The Silver Lights Festival is a FREE holiday activity and made the list of 50 family-friendly holiday activities. You drive through Hubbard Park listening to your favorite Christmas music while looking at the light displays. The whole ride is no more than 10 or 20 minutes but it’s a quick little way to slow down and enjoy the holiday season. The displays are up all day so even if you can’t get their at night you can still drive through during the day.
When Chris and I first moved into our house, our neighbor told us about Hubbard Park’s Silver Lights Festival in Meriden, CT. We both have lived in Connecticut our whole lives but had never even heard of it. Since then it has become a holiday tradition to drive through Hubbard Park and look at the lights.
There are all different types of light displays but the mama swan and her baby in the middle of the pond is my favorite.
The whole area is driveable but you can get out and walk around to get a closer look at some of the displays. This year my girls were too excited to stay in the car so we got out and looked at the trees up close.
We also walked up to Santa’s Workshop in the front of the park. You can only peek into the windows. Inside there is a miniature Christmas village display complete with snow and twinkling lights.
The Silver Light Festival at Hubbard Park is one of our favorite Christmas activities. I hope that you’ll consider taking a trip down and enjoying the lights too!
