Birthday Wish List

I love May. The weather is perfect. The flowers are in bloom. We celebrate our moms. But most importantly, May is my birthday month. I don’t usually make a big deal over my birthday, but I’d be lying if I said I don’t like to be recognized.

Birthday Wish List

Here are a few of my wishes for my birthday this year.

Spa Appointment

I have a drawer full of spa gift cards that have been collecting dust. It’s been my family’s go-to gift for me since I became a mom. I appreciate the thought, but I always find a reason not to spend the time on myself. This year, I’d love for someone to book the appointment, arrange for a babysitter, and make me go. No excuses. It’s important to take time out to pamper myself. I just need to stop feeling guilty about everything I’m leaving behind for that one hour.

Personalized Gifts

Mother's bracelet

Gifts aren’t required when you’re in your thirties, but of course I wouldn’t mind a little something! I always love getting unique and personalized gifts, especially ones that remind me of my kids. I’m currently in love with the “Family of Love” engraved bracelet. It’s combines everyone’s names and birthstones. I like the fact that it’s delicate and can be worn every day. It would also make a perfect Mother’s Day present (Hint! Hint!).

Picnic Lunch

One of the best parts about having a birthday in May is that the weather is awesome in Connecticut. It’s not too hot and not too cold. I love the idea of having a picnic lunch with my family on my birthday. There are so many beautiful parks and vineyards throughout the state to have a little lunch. I selfishly like the idea because I can enjoy my lunch (and maybe a glass or two of wine) while my kids run free. Just being outside will to entertain them. Everyone wins!

Sleep in Late

Master Bedroom

I think the one thing that I’d appreciate more than anything on my birthday is to sleep in late. My hubby has been awesome at taking the day off of work for my birthday since we had kids. He takes care of the kids and give me a much needed break. This year I’d love for that to start just a little bit earlier in the day — like 6 am. Take the kids outside or to breakfast. I don’t care where they go as long as I can stay snuggled in my bed without interruption.

These are a few of the things I wish for on my birthday. What are some of the things you like to do or receive on yours?
